Only a couple of pairs left to go in the Christmas knitting mitt marathon. I hope they're appreciated!
I did lots of washing, changed the bedsheets, and cooked Slimming World spaghetti carbonara (can you believe I'd never cooked carbonara before at all?!) which was pretty delicious - even if I do say so myself. It even met the exacting standards of The Bearded One who announced, after I'd cooked and mid-way through eating, that carbonara was his childhood favourite. No pressure then
I also got round to making some more Christmas gifts, out of old vinyl records.
The photo isn't much good, but can you tell what it is yet?
These may help:
The last one has already found a new home as The Bearded One took a fancy to it, so it's now residing in Paddington.
Group hug?
These are very easy to do, involving old vinyl records - preferably with a colourful label or an interesting track - an ovenproof bowl and an oven.
Oh, and oven gloves...don't forget the oven gloves!
It's great fun and produces unique results every time.
So, quite a productive day all in all.
Today was the total opposite as I spent most of the day at a spa with three of my closest girlfriends. We haven't caught up properly for way too long. They all have small children of varying ages and we all have busy lives, so today was a real treat for us all.
So it's back to the real world tomorrow for another busy week at work. Here's hoping that it goes as quickly as this one has, as next weekend should be fun too!
Just time for a quick trip to Handmade Harbour before bed - in fresh, clean sheets, and fresh clean pyjamas, it's the little things in life :)
xx
Yay I love making things from old records, got to make sure they are not collectors items first!!
ReplyDeleteThese look great.

I haven't seen these for years! they look great but I don't think I'll use any of the vinyl I've kept - all too much sentimental value.
ReplyDeletethe bowls look really good. Simple idea, very effective. Make sure you're not melting something worth thousands though!!
ReplyDeleteThe cranford mitts look lovely - I'm sure they'll be appreciated! Love the bowls, I've seen a few places doing these and they are really popular! Simmi x
ReplyDeleteLove these bowls, especailly how the vinyl looks so fluid. Great work!
ReplyDeleteThe bowls look great. Although I couldn't do that to my record collection. Love your cranford mitts. And lovely to hear you had a great time with your girlfriends. Have a crafty week.

Your mitts are great, the bowls are nice but how could you do that to poor Donovan! One of his songs- 'Jennifer Juniper' is my namesake
ReplyDeletesorry! :)
DeleteLove the bowls. Your definitely right, little things are the best :)
ReplyDeleteThanks all! I picked the records up for next to nothing at a charity shop so I don't feel too bad. I'd rather they had a second lease of useful life as a bowl out in the open instead of gathering dust somewhere. If that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have crafty weeks too x
The mitts are really pretty, and the bowls look so colourful all together.
ReplyDeleteI love the mittens, and the bowls look funky, hope the vinyl isn't a collectors item!
